DETAIL VIEW

This castle is an uncommon case in Korea, which was constructed in a quadrate-style made of soil on level land. The area of the castle is 62,500㎡–-relatively large. There are many remains and relics of habitation including antiquities such as potteries and stoneware. The story was spread by word-of-mouth that the castle was built in a day by the Chinese army commended by Lungkuta and Maputa in the 14th year of King Injo (in 1636 AD), though there is no historical support for this. After the reclamation, a few times (August 21, 1976 and May 27, 1977), expert committees of cultural heritage investigated and judged that the soiled castle was an important and sacred place in the age of Samhan. After that, the place was appointed to the regional memorial, and currently, the wall of the castle is completely destroyed by wind and frost. Only one side of the castle (length 70m, height 6m, width 4m) is left.
