Goseokjeong Pavilion, which was designated as a national tourist site in 1977, is one of the nine scenic spots of Cheorwon located in the middle of the Hantangang River. It is the only basalt eruption site in South Korea, making it especially unique as a massive 10-meter rock rises in the center of the river. Many legends have been passed down as it is also widely known as the stage for the activities of Im Kkeokjeong in the early Joseon period.
From here, Jiktang Falls are located about 2 kilometers upstream and Sundam Valley is located about 2 kilometers downstream. There is also a facility management office, making it the best place for sightseeing in Cheorwon, where you can enjoy a national security tour as well.
